WD released the first SSDs licensed for use with the Sony PlayStation 5 console.
You can choose between a 1TB or 2TB WD Black SN850NVMe. The first one costs $170 and the second $280.
Although technically this SSD is regular SSD, the Sony PlayStation license states that it has been tested for compatibility. There are speeds that correspond to Sony recommendations, such as up to 7000 MB /s for reading or 5300 MB/s for writing.
A heatsink is also included. Sony recommends that an SSD only be used with a cooling system.
It is also worth noting the WD website that this SSD is not designed for NAS environments or server environments.
