Samsung plans to sell 15 million Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4, and ‘only’ 10 million Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5

Samsung is expected launch the Galaxy Z Fold 4 smartphone and Z Flip 4 smartphone in August. The first details about the Galaxy Z Fold 5 (and Z Flip 5) have been published by ET News in South Korea. They will be available for purchase starting in 2023.

According to industry sources, the publication has learned that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 & Z Flip 5 will be built using a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 single chip system. It is expected to be released as soon as November. Xiaomi should be the first smartphone to use this platform.

 

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 will feature a triple camera setup, including a 50MP ISOCELL G3 image sensor and 12MP front camera. The details about the Galaxy Z Flip 5 clamshell cam are still unknown.

Samsung expects to sell more than 10 million Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 units in the second half 2023. Sales are not evenly distributed with 8 million Z Flip 5s and 2 million Z fold 5. Samsung is aiming to sell 15 million units of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Flip 4. Sources don’t give reasons why the next generation might see a decline in sales.

Samsung has not yet confirmed a date for the next Unpacked event. Recent leaks suggest that the event will be held on August 10. It will include the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Watch 5/Watch 5 Pro. These devices will be available for purchase starting August 26th.
