At current production rates, the lineup for electric Hummer EV already exceeds 17 years.
General Motors faces the same problems that Tesla faced long ago, and Rivian and Ford are now facing the same. The company presented a car to the market that was very appealing, and they started to pre-order. However, GM cannot produce enough cars. This was due to a continuing shortage of parts.
About 77,500 people have already pre-ordered Hummer EV. This is a significant number, but it’s still a fraction of the Tesla Model 3 at once. But Tesla was able to produce more cars than ever before and had no issues with its components. General Motors produces 12 cars per day.
This is a very small number. Rivian already exceeds the volume of 30-40 cars per day. Ford also produces approximately 150 F-150 Lightings pickups.
Although the manufacturer claims it will significantly increase its production volume at the end this year, there are no specific data. Even though 12 cars are produced per day, even a fivefold increase in production would be insufficient.
