Oppo Reno8 Lite: cheap mid range ready for Europe launch

Oppo, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, is expanding its reach to the European market. The model range is expanding so quickly that the Oppo Reno8Lite 5G device is from a new series that started elsewhere than the Reno7. The Oppo Reno8 Lite 5G is a mid-range smartphone that offers a cheaper alternative to smartphones from Motorola, Samsung, and Xiaomi. The device looks very similar to the Reno7 Lite 5G. This phone was only recently introduced in China. It also appears identical technicallly.

The display of the Opporeno8 Lite has a 6.43 inch AMOLED panel. It offers a full HD resolution of 2400×1080 pixels. There is also a cutout in the top right corner for the front-facing camera. With its eight cores, the Snapdragon 695 5G (SM6375) has a clock speed of 2.2 gigahertz and integrated 5G modem. The device has 8 gigabytes RAM and 128GB internal flash memory, which can be used with a microSD card slot.

The 64-megapixel main camera features phase-detection automatic focus and two 2-megapixel cameras that can be used for depth and macro effects. The resolution of the front camera is 16 megapixels. The transfer is done via acWLAN. Bluetooth 5.1 and NFC are supported. Oppo will equip the Reno8 Lite 5G in a 4500mAh battery. It can be charged quickly with 33 watts.

You can also use two SIM cards. Android11 is used here as an operating system in combination with the ColorOS interface. It is disappointing, as Android 13 is coming soon and many other devices offer a newer OS with Android 12.
