Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO of Ola Electric, revealed that the company is currently developing its own battery cells for its electric vehicles.
The Ola S1 Pro scooter’s battery capacity is now 3.97 kWh. This allows the scooter to travel 180km without needing to recharge. Recent owners reported that they were able drive 300km in eco mode with just one charge of the MoveOS 2.0 update. LG Chem Korea supplies this battery.
Ola Electric could build its own batteries to reduce manufacturing costs, avoid supply chain problems, and improve innovation and long-term management.
Public disclosure of battery specifications (including energy density, capacity and battery chemistry) is still not possible.
