Microsoft’s Windows 11 Insider Preview (Build 25158) is now available on Dev Channel. It will include some old taskbar features, as well as new badges to support widgets. Notification badges can be used to warn or warn about various widgets such as weather. You also indicate how many notifications are pending consultation.
You can click on the notification badge in the screenshot to open the widget list. The top banner of the table gives more details about the trigger for the notification badge. You can disable the feature and remove the widget icon form the taskbar.
What other changes will Windows 11’s new build bring?
Microsoft currently tests three visual changes to the taskbar, in addition to badges that can be used for widgets. One uses the standard search icon while the other two have a smaller or larger search bar in their taskbar. Microsoft would like to hear from insiders about these changes before rolling them out. Microsoft has announced that the taskbar will not be moved to the top for anyone who hoped to make changes.
Windows 11 Build 25158 allows you to enable DNS over TLS. This protocol is in addition DNS over HTTPS (DoH), which is already part of the operating system. DNS over TLS does not require any advanced steps. It can be activated through the command line. Windows Insiders can also access the Dev Channel to test a new Camera app on Windows 11. The design has been updated in line with Windows 11 and now supports QR and barcode scanning.
