The new Marvel game’s comic book inspiration is darker than Marvel and its characters. Marvel’s Midnight Suns will reflect this darkened view.

The Midnight Sons Comic Arc

In the comic book Rise of the Midnight Sons, the Midnight Sons group was created. This story features Johnny Blaze, also known as Ghost Rider. He is given a vision in which Lilith, Mother Of Demons, is being resurrected. It then poses a threat to his life. Doctor Strange discovered that the Midnight Sons were a band of warriors who could stop Lilith’s plans.

Some of the major characters featured in the Rise of the Midnight Sons story are Ghost Rider, Morbius, Blade, Hannibal King, and several more of Marvel’s darker heroes. This story centres on Johnny Blaze, but Marvel’s Midnight Suns will include a new Ghost Rider and other character changes.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns: Differences

The basic elements of the story appear to be preserved for Firaxis’ adaptation, based on what we have seen so far. The primary antagonist is Lilith, but the game appears to be showing the Marvel universe through an even darker lens. However, the main differences seem to be related to the characters in the videogame version. The Hunter is the protagonist of Marvel’s Midnight Suns. He is a child Lilith. This gives the story a new dimension and makes it more personal. This character was created by Firaxis’ Midnight Suns and is not part of the Midnight Sons comic story.

This isn’t the only difference between characters, as Marvel’s Midnight Suns have a modified roster. Blade and Doctor Strange will appear. However, there will be a new Ghost Rider and other curious additions to this team. Captain America and Iron Man, two characters not often associated with the darker side of Marvel comics, will appear in Midnight Suns. This storyline may appeal to casual Marvel fans as well as Midnight Sons fans. Although the Midnight Sons storyline is still very much relevant, the original story does seem to have more to do with the comic book.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns have a chance to stand out among other superhero games. This darker version of Marvel heroes may be popular because it draws on the Midnight Sons comic for its supernatural inspiration. Midnight Sunsdoes do not appear to be retelling the comic book story. The inclusion of The Hunter and family ties and the adjusted team roster set it apart from its predecessor. Firaxis apparently changed the spelling to Midnight Suns to pay homage and emphasize that it’s not an exact adaptation.
