Incredible CPU performance or super powerful iGPU. Ryzen 7000 mobile processor details revealed

Recent data shows that the new generation of mobile Ryzen processors 7000 will be more powerful than their predecessors than their desktop counterparts.

This is a line called Dragon Range. The processors from this line will be called Ryzen 70000HX. AMD has similar APUs but they aren’t much different than other mobile high-end models. The Dragon Range will be quite different.

According to the source, AMD will launch mobile processors with at least eight cores within this line. The Ryzen 9 7980HX will feature 16 cores, while the Ryzen 9 7900HX has 12 cores. The Ryzen 7 7800HX has 8 cores, while the Ryzen 7 7800HX has 8 cores. And the Ryzen 5 7600HX, which will have 6 cores. These APUs will look as close as possible to desktop models. True, AMD’s Ryzen mobile processors had always used a monolithic crystal. That is why they were maximum 8-core. The Dragon Range will now be chiplet. These will likely be the same desktop APUs but with lower power limits. The source, for example, indicates the maximum frequencies within the range of 4.8 to 5.0 GHz or slightly more. These APUs will also receive iGPUs equipped with 256 stream processors.

AMD will also offer a Phoenix line of processors with Ryzen 7700HS processors. These APUs will have six to eight cores. Each Ryzen 9 7980HS and Ryzen 9 7900HS will have eight cores. The Ryzen 7 7800HS has six cores. The former will get an iGPU with 1536 stream processing, while the latter will have a core that has 768 stream processing.

According to sources, the older iGPU will run at frequencies between 2.6-3.0 GHz and 9.2 TFLOPS, which will give incredible performance for the integrated graphic core – 9.2 TFLOPS. This could be the performance level of the mobile GeForce RTX3060 Max-Q.

These APUs, despite having fewer processor cores than other models, can still be chiplet-based. According to the source, there will be three crystals. One is a processor and one is an iGPU. The third crystal is a chiplet that is associated with the memory subsystem. It could be Infinity Cache memory.
