Rumours had previously suggested that the Huawei Mate 50 flagship series would have two models, the Mate 50 Pro and the Mate 50. New data suggests that there will be three models.
According to the source, the Mate 50e series will also feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G single chip system. This is in addition to 5G support. The Snapdragon 778 SoCs have been very popular with Huawei and Honor (for instance, the latest nova 10 Pro and nova 10 Pro are built on this platform), so it seems plausible that the rumor is true. The Mate 50e could be a simplified version of the flagships that Huawei released previously with the “e” suffix in their names. It will be, according to the characteristics, simpler than the Mate 50 Pro and Mate 50 Pro. However, there aren’t any additional details.
The HarmonyOS 3 operating systems system, which is a proprietary Android replacement, was also confirmed to be being launched on July 27. Although it was believed that this OS would debut alongside the Mate 50 on September 12, it is possible that the OS may be presented separately and in advance.
