Samsung announced that Google Assistant, the digital assistant widely regarded as the best in business, is now available on the Galaxy Watch 4. This functionality was expected for many months.
After months and months spent waiting, Samsung finally released an update to the Galaxy Watch 4 which adds Google Assistant. The Galaxy Watch 4 has been a top-rated smartwatch since its debut last fall.
This was Samsung’s first Wear OS watch in many years. While Samsung had previously chosen to use Tizen, Google Assistant wasn’t available at launch. Recently, a Verizon software update revealed that it included support for Google Assistant. It told users that the Korean giant was soon to add the voice assistant. The feature was also confirmed by Samsung in a YouTube video.
How can I download Google Assistant for Galaxy Watch 4
Google Assistant is now available to download from the Google Play Store. It can also be launched from both the Galaxy Watch 4 or Watch 4 Classic app menus. You can also use voice commands for the Google Assistant to open it or reprogram the home button of your watches. As with Bixby’s watch, activating Google Assistant can be done using the home button+. You will need to go into the settings and change the activation method. Once you are done, press and hold on the home button to launch the wizard.
Samsung clarified that Google Assistant is only available in 10 regions at the moment, which includes Australia, Canada and France. Not only does the update add Google Assistant to the Galaxy Watch 4 but also other apps such as Google Maps and Google Pay.
