Samsung has been marketing its robust smartphones for some time. These phones are great for outdoors use, walking or working on construction sites with mediocre equipment. The Galaxy XCover 6 Pro is available for preview this year.
Yesterday’s publication included information about India’s GizNext Photo website and first details regarding the specs of the new Samsung Galaxy XCover6 Pro. This is the latest variant of the rugged smartphone from the Korean manufacturer. It now uses a strong Qualcomm platform and an integrated 5G modem.
The Galaxy XCover 6 Pro features a 6.56 inch LCD panel with a teardrop-shaped “notch”, which houses the front camera. Although the panel boasts a remarkable resolution of 2408×1080 Pixels, it has been kept very simple. The standard refresh rate is 60 Hertz.
The “notch” on the top of the screen now houses a 13-megapixel camera, while the main camera at the back has a 50-megapixel sensor that should give decent quality photos. An additional camera is available, but no information is available about its resolution or intended use.
Qualcomm premium mid-range SoC, with 5G modem
The Galaxy XCover 6 Pro runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G octa core SoC. The American chip supplier’s top mid-range chip with speeds of up to 2.4 gigahertz and an integrated 5G modem is the chip. It offers more than enough performance to be used as a smartphone for construction sites or hiking.
Samsung offers the chip with six gigabytes total RAM and 128GB internal flash memory. However, it is not clear if this can be expanded. These photos show that the phone is well protected from environmental influences. It should therefore be IP68 certified. The absence of slots at the edges of the case suggests that the battery compartment and microSD card slot can be accessed by opening the case. This indicates that the battery can be changed here.
It also features the standard features of Samsung’s rugged smartphones such as: The case also features the usual Samsung features, such as a notification LED, a pogo pin for external accessories and a large button at the left edge that allows you to press, for example, -To-talk functions, if they are available in your country. Previous leaks have shown that the Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 PRO 5G SM–G736 will come with Android 12. This means that it will include the Samsung One UI4. The price and availability of the new rugged smartphone are unknown.
