Brit who lost 7,500 bitcoins will attract robotic dogs Boston Dynamics to search

James Howells, a British engineer, accidentally threw out a hard drive containing 7,500 bitcoins. We wrote about it in an article on crypto wallets. He plans to use Boston Dynamics robot dogs to find a drive in a landfill. One robot now has a value of almost $75,000

James stated that robops will be used to secure the ground and scan it. To protect the landfill at night, they will be fitted with CCTV cameras.

At the current exchange rate the British lost bitcoins are worth more than 160 million US Dollars.

Business Insider was told by the owner of the disk that he created the search plan with help from expert consultants and received funding support from two venture capitalists. The City of Newport has not yet approved a search operation at the site.

A government official stated that Howells didn’t provide enough evidence to convince the city.

A City Hall spokesperson stated that “His proposals pose an important environmental risk that we can’t accept.”

In addition, Briton offered $72 million to Newport in January 2021 to excavate the landfill by themselves, but it was rejected.

James Howells, however, is an excellent example of the “never lose heart” rule.
