Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Getting Next-Gen Update for PS5 and Xbox Series X

Developers have been updating older titles to improve performance on the PS5 or Xbox Series X, in response to the slow production of triple-A games over the past year. This includes popular titles such asDestiny 2Although many other games have also received enhancements, this is the only one. A new game has just been added to the collection.Assassin’s Creed OdysseyOriginally released in 2018, the following will be updated:

Ubisoft made the announcement via Twitter via the official Assassin’s Creed account. The game will not see major changes in visual fidelity or gameplay mechanics. However, Title Update 1.6.0 of Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey will allow the game to run at 60 FPS in backward compatible mode for PS5/Xbox Series X consoles. According to the announcement, the update will take about 370MB for Xbox and 470MB for PlayStation.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has been criticized as being an Assassin’s Creed title in name only – something Valhalla has also been accused. However, the game has received consistently high critical scores. Most praise has been directed at Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s open-world elements and overhaul of the franchise’s RPG components. Some even referred to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey among the most outstanding open-world games.

Ubisoft has done a good job supporting its backlog on newer hardware. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey was not the first game to get an update. The Division 2‘s update provided similar improvements to its frame rate on the hardware and boosted the resolution up to 4K. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey uses dynamic resolution scaling. However, it was able run at 4K on Xbox One X. It is likely that this will also be true here.

Title Update 1.6.0 gives fans another reason to play Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. This game has a lot of content and 60 FPS can make the game feel more enjoyable. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla just released its Siege of Paris DLC, so there’s lots for gamers to look at right now.

There are still many questions about the future of the franchise. Assassin’s Creed Infinity was recently confirmed, though there’s next to no information about what the game will be. Although it is rumored that the game will be a live service, fans may not know for certain until then.
