Apple has today released a Update to 4E71 firmware For the AirPods 2 AirPods Max, AirPods Max and AirPods Pro are now supported by the 4C165 firmware, which was released in December.
Apple doesn’t provide information about the contents of the AirPods’ refreshed firmware updates. We don’t know what bug fixes or improvements the new firmware will bring. Although there isn’t a standard method to update the AirPods software the firmware can be installed while the AirPods connect to an iOS device. After putting the AirPods into the case, you can connect them to a power source and then pair them to an iPhone or iPad to force an update.
These steps will allow you to check the firmware of your AirPods Pro or AirPods Pro.
Connect your AirPods Pro or AirPods to your iOS device.
Open the Settings app.
Take a look at the number beside “Firmware version.”
We’ll let you know if we notice any changes after installing the firmware updates. However, the software most likely includes bug fixes and performance improvements.
