Apple Announces WWDC 2022 For June 6 – Here’s Everything We’re Expecting

Apple just confirmed dates for WWDC 2022 — where we expect to see iOS 16 and a new macOS version. Apple’s events are the most anticipated of all the tech conferences and events. Here we hear about new iPhones, iPods, and Macs.

Apple holds an annual Worldwide Developer Conference, better known as WWDC. WWDC is where Apple releases the latest software versions, including significant updates to iOS, macOS, and watchOS. Has been home to some of Apple’s most exciting hardware announcements. WWDC is no stranger to Apple gadgets, from the HomePod to the 2019 Mac Pro.

Following Apple’s Peek Performance’ event, where it launched the iPhone SE 3 & Mac Studio, Apple has now announced the dates of WWDC 2022. The developer conference will take place between June 6-and 10, and it will be virtual. Most WWDC’s events, from the opening keynote to the guided developer workshops, are happening online. Apple will add a one-day component “for students and developers” on June 6, but the rest of WWDC is virtually taking place.

All We Expect From WWDC 2022

iOS 16 is the most anticipated software announcement at this year’s WWDC. iOS 15 introduced SharePlay, revamped notifications, and many other changes to apps such as FaceTime and Weather. Although iOS 16 leaks remain scarce, some rumors suggest that it will add interactive widgets (a highly-requested feature ever since devices were introduced in iOS 14). iPadOS 16 is expected to be available, with additional productivity features that allow iPadOS to take advantage of the M1 chip in the iPad Pro and iPad Air.

WWDC 2022 will not only bring updates to iPhones and iPods, but also announcements about watchOS 9, tvOS 16, and a new macOS version. Things could be either very exciting or rather dull when hardware announcements. Apple could tease rumored devices such as the M1 Mac Pro or its long-awaited VR/AR glasses. Apple’s M2 chips could also be unveiled. Apple could also announce no new hardware. This is part of the fun of WWDC.
