AMD GPU heat dissipation could reach 700W by 2025

AMD will soon release Radeon RX7000 graphics cards, which will be significantly more powerful than current models. They will produce more heat and consume more energy. AMD predicts that future generations will experience similar results. The figures could nearly double compared to 2010-2015.

VentureBeat interview with Sam Naffziger, AMD Senior Vice President and Science Advisor, suggested that graphics card heat could reach 700W by 2025. The figure was 300 Watts in 205.

The company is working to reduce heat generation by improving the energy efficiency of its new video chips. One solution was to increase the Infinity Cache’s size and decrease the memory bus.

We have previously stated that AMD’s new cards may be more efficient than Nvidia’s. However, the “green” team has not yet provided any forecasts. New AMD cards will be available in the fall. However, Nvidia accelerators could be delayed until December.

It was previously reported that the Nvidia’s new graphics chips would be created by artificial intelligence.
