ADATA has released M.2 SSDs with read speeds up to 7400MB/s. They are suitable for PC and PS5

ADATA has announced the launch of a new line of 2280 format SSDs with a PCIe Gen4x4 interface. This is the LEGEND960 family. It is designed to be a high-performance solution that can be used on PCs, laptops, and even PS5.

These drives are notable for their speed – sequential read/write speeds of up to 7400MB/s and 6800MB/s respectively. Random access rates for 4K blocks are 750,000 IOPS and 630,000 respectively.

Although the drives are controlled by the Silicon Motion SM2264 controllers, the type of memory used is not yet known. It is known that the drives support NVMe 1.4 and have SLC caching technology. This means that write speeds will not decrease after a threshold has been reached.

256-bit AES encryption is included, as well as support for the LDPC and a 5-year warranty. LEGEND 960 can be ordered in capacities up to 4 TB. However, the first two versions of LEGEND 996 will be available. The largest option will be available by the end. The prices have yet to be announced.
