A huge Chrome bug also affects Edge, Microsoft recommends updating urgently

Microsoft has confirmed Edge user’s fears: The zero day bug that affected Google Chrome earlier in the week also affects this browser. Don’t panic if you are one of these people. A fix is available in the most recent update. We will show you how to install it.

We told you at the beginning of this week about a massive zero-day vulnerability that Google Chrome was afflicted by. This one, CVE-2022-2294 is the most critical as hackers could already have abused it. Mountain View has now deployed an emergency patch to fix the problem, but Edge users remain concerned. The Microsoft browser is based on the Chromium core, so it is not unusual for it to have its flaws. The flaws in one often find themselves in the other. This is a common occurrence. Microsoft has responded to users’ concerns by implementing a patch that addresses this zero-day flaw.

How to install Microsoft Edge Update
We recommend that you upgrade your browser immediately if you are worried. The manipulation is not clever, however. Here’s the step-by-step process:

Open your browser side
Click on the menu Settingstop left, represented by three dots
In the section Help & Commentsclick About Microsoft Edge
The browser will automatically search for the most recent updates and install them.
To complete the installation, close your browser and open a new one to continue.

This dangerous loophole is not accessible to you and you don’t need to take any action. This patch is automatically applied and protects you from hackers using it to steal personal information. It is better to regularly check the Edge for updates so that you are taking advantage of any Microsoft patches.
